Did James Frey fool Oprah, Any Donkey & 3.5 million others?

An investigation by The Smoking Gun casts doubt on the accuracy of author James Frey's Million Little Pieces (Pieces). Mr. Frey has hired celebrity law firm Lavely & Singer to "communicate" with The Smoking Gun. Read he letter here linked at The Smoking Gun.

Pieces catapulted onto best seller lists shortly after Frey appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show in October 2005 and has reportedly sold over 3.5 million copies worldwide.

The Smoking Gun alleges:

Book Club" author's best-selling nonfiction memoir filled with fabrications, falsehoods, other fakery, TSG probe finds.

Any Donkey read and reviewed Pieces only a couple days ago after several friends read and suggested I add it to my reading list. One, a dentist, questioned the Frey's veracity in describing the dental procedures he endured.

Interesting. Interesting indeed.
