Dean Karnazes finds sanity

On December 15, 2006, Dean discontinued his run from New York to San Francisco. Runner's World site reports:

After 28 days on the road and close to 1300 miles, it was getting to be too much. Dean decided it was time to stop running to go home and be with his family, "I wanted to go back to dad mode. I have a wife and two children and I've been away from them far too long."

Sadly, the run is over. Any Donkey and friends were planning on joining Dean for a few miles in the hills east of Sacramento . . .

Who knows? No update at his RunnersWorld page since December 15, 2006.

He is 943 miles into his run across America - that after running 50 marathons in 50 days in 50 different states.

Dean Karnaze is in Indiana and tenatively running through St. Louis December 18.
