And on the Frog Front

Was it you know who that was spotted in Ms. McCloud's salad?

She spotted the 5cm marsh frog, usually found in mainland Europe, on a lettuce leaf as her fork was poised to spear it.

Post & photograph here.

HT FinzToRite for watching the Frog Front.

The leftovers . . .

Pinehurst Joe is a waste not kind of guy:

Now, for the night after.....

take the left over steak and slice it very thin...heat a skillet, make a vodka martini. and then add a large cut onion...by that I mean, don't dice, just slice down and use the whole slices...slowly brown the onions in butter , then add small amount of olive oil...season with cracked pepper...small amount of salt...when onions are brown, make another martini, but throw an ounce of vodka in pan...let it cook off....then add a glass of "Raging Bull" Cabernet....turn to high heat and let wine boil off with big bubbles, remove and eat...don't forget the vodka....

BTW, I am going to stop watching any kind of TV except for sports...I can't stand Hillary shouting at me, and I am not even married to her.....Joe

Pinehurst Joe "celebrates" Judge Whyte & FTC

Those on the Pinehurst Thread know that Joe is a man of many talents. One is his culinary skills. We were blessed with the following:

We had a great meal last night to celebrate the lack of a FTC ruling by 2-2-07....Whyte must feel like an ass, after delaying for FTC, but we can eat....

Garlic English Muffins....double toast Bays English muffins until dark and crispy....melt butter and garlic salt in saucepan ... spread on muffins and put them aside...when steaks are done, sprinkle with paprika and slide under broiler for a short time....

As always, Idaho instant mashed potatoes....
Canned Asparagus

Finely chop four shallots, put in saucepan with butter....cook until lightly brown, add three tablespoons of Worchestire Sauce, pronounced "Wooster" Sauce, cook under low heat until most of Wooster sauce is gone , remove and set aside....

In a large skillet, add 6 tablespoons of butter, bring to medium high heat, add a 24 once Allen Brothers 2 inch thick steak (see below) which has been prepped with generous amounts of cracked pepper and garlic salt, cook 6 minutes on a side, doesn't sound like enough, but steaks will continue to cook after removed from heat, Take drippings and add to the shallots, if you like, cook shallots until slightly crisp, which is how we prefer this recipe, otherwise simply heat...this sauce is wonderful on the steak and also adds a lot to butter taste on the mashed potatoes...try some of the shallots on the garlic English muffins, incredible...feeds three...enjoy

Caution, have one shaken, not stirred, very dry Vodka martini with one olive while cooking...have another as you sit down to table, but limit yourself to two, otherwise you will not remember how good this meal was, have glass of "Fat Bull' cab with meal....Joe
