On July 13, 1861, Wild Bill Hickok had his first recorded gunfight - killing one and wounding two others (finished off by co-workers) when the first victim threatened to give Mr. Hickok a thrashing. In 1867, "Harper's New Monthly Magazine published a highly exaggerated account of the shoot-out which claimed Hickok had single-handedly killed nine men." Read more at The History Channel Website.
