Hat tip to:

The pilots and crews from the United States, United Kingdom, France, Australia, Canada, South Africa and New Zealand who supplied Berlin from May 12, 1949 until September 30, 1950 via 278,228 flights carrying 2,326,406 tons of food and supplies, including more than 1.5 million tons of coal.

An airlift that mattered.

Hat tip to Robert Jones, may God rest your soul, for your part in the airlift. You my friend, remain an American hero.
