Microsoft - Xbox 360 Japan sales lag

Microsoft announced that it expects to have 80 Xbox 360 game titles available by year end to compete with Sony's pre-holiday launch of Playstation 3.

Although Xbox 360 has reportedly sold well in Europe and the United States, Japan has been a challenge. As compared to Sony's Playstation 2 release in Japan in 2000, Xbox 360 is a dismal failure. Microsoft estimates that 123,000 units have sold in Japan the approximately three months since its launch - Sony's PS2 sold nearly 1,000,000 units in its first three days following its 2000 launch in Japan according to industry watcher Enterbrain.
