Shortly after midday (1:30 p.m.) on Halloween's eve, the Honorable Richard A. Kramer will be hearing Rambus Inc. vs. Micron Technology, Inc. , A Delaware Corporation, et al.
On the docket is Rambus's motion to amend a protective order that prohibits Rambus from disclosing to third parties any of the Department of Justice (DOJ) documents - totaling about 1,000,000 pages - that the DOJ gathered in its price-fixing investigation.
The less than honorable Dramuria will be paying the US government hundreds of millions of dollars in fines as a result of the DOJ investigation. Now the Dramurai are fighting tooth and nail to keep the details of their illegal behavior hidden from public view.
On October 6, 2005, Judge Kramer amended his Protective Order of May 12, 2005, to allow parties to the action to give "Designated Materials" to representatives of foreign or domestic agencies after providing the representatives with a copy of the Protective Order and its Amendment. Read the Order at the court site here.
However, on October 11, 2005, Judge Kramer vacated his order of October 6, 2005, pending the hearing schedule for October 31, 2005. Read the Order ar the court site here.
Rambus has requested that the record be reopened in its FTC case so that it may submit up to 250 pages of DOJ discovered documents covered under Judge Kramer's Protective Order. The documents, should they see the light of day, may gut Complaint Counsel's findings and proposed remedy. Read Rambus's motion of 9/10/05 at the FTC site here.
Public opinion has continued to shift in favor of Rambus. The Inquirer, long a critic of Rambus and apparent hater of all things Intel, has admitted that Rambus was right about the Dramurai and their "price-fixing scam." Read the April 25, 2005, Inquirer article here. Now the Inquirer is hoping that Pandora's Box will be opened. Read the Inquirer article here. The inquirer remains fixated on the Intel - Rambus relationship . . .
It would be nice if Judge Cramer (sic) was able to unseal the details of the deal forged between Intel and Rambus, but we suspect that is just a hope. The Ramboids are tonight dreaming of His Honor, astride a black stallion thundering through the infested hollow of lies spun by the Dramurai, wielding his gravel like a bloody sword of justice.

Is it Cramer or Kramer??? Your message shows both spellings. TIA.
His Honor spells his surname Kramer. The Inquirer spells it Cramer as I posted with the "sic" following to indicate that I have quoted as written.
