Smoke & mirrors - AMD style

AMD in its recently filed compliant against INTC asserts the following:

"In proceedings brought by the JFTC, Intel has accepted the JFTC charges of misconduct . . . "

INTC in its press release dated March 31, 2005, states (in part) the following:

Although IJKK (Japanese subsidiary of INTC) accepts the Recommendation, the company does not agree with the facts underlying the JFTC's allegations and the application of law in the Recommendation.

And . . .

We do not accept the Recommendation's allegations in its fact findings and the application of law. We believe the allegations misinterpret important aspects of our business practices and fail to take into account the competitive environment within which Intel and its customers compete."

I read that INTC accepts the "Recommendation". I do not read that INTC has accepted "charges of misconduct."

A link to the "Recommendation" can be found at AMD's site here.

It appears that the war AMD has chosen to wage against INTC will be carried on for AMD by websters, webmasters and lawyers.

Stay tuned . . .
