The secret is out. Rambus made cryptic comments at its annual shareholder’s meeting earlier this month about an individual “that I think most of you know.” This individual, soon to be announced, would help find new markets for Rambus IP and gaze into a crystal ball to divine trends. That individual is Dr. Mark Horowitz.
Ramboids know Dr. Horowitz as a co-founder of Rambus with Dr. Michael Farmwald. Previously, Horowitz has been a director and a vice president at Rambus. In his new position, he will report directly to CEO Harold Hughes.
A SEC Form 4 filing by Horowitz dated May 3, 2005, shows that he owns 1,422,360 shares of Rambus. Horowitz unloads Rambus shares at a clip of 23,692 early each month under a 10b5-1 plan. No mention in the press release about cash compensation or if additional options will be awarded Dr. Horowitz.
