The Rambus "Innovator of the Future" scholarship awards program, established in 2004, seeks to broaden the educational opportunities of students who, by virtue of their academic and extracurricular achievement, demonstrate a passion for science and technology that extends beyond the classroom.HT to Kelly, Vesuna, Katherine, Tania, Christine and Travis, Rambus Inc. . .
Kelly and Vesuna have each been awarded $10,000 for college or university tuition and books at a U.S. or foreign college or university. The scholarship money will be distributed in equal increments over four years at the beginning of each academic year.
In addition to the scholarship awards, a one-time award of $1,000 will go to each of the other four finalists in this year's scholarship program: Katherine Johnson, Tania Morimoto, Christine Ryan and Travis Schuh, all from Mountain View High School.
Perhaps next year Rambus will award a scholarship to a student in law school who finishes top in his or her intellectual property class - because without the lawyers writing those patents and then running to court . . .
