Marcos Breton hits the nail on the head

A columnist writing for the Sacramento Bee, Marcos Breton wrote:

He's sometimes dismissed for his verbal pratfalls, but Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger knows more about the immigrant experience than some Latinos would concede.

Last week, in a genial manner, Schwarzenegger advised English-learning Latinos to turn off their Spanish-language TV shows and learn English.

For a Mexican American whose first language was Spanish, the reaction here was: Right on, my Austrian brother.
