Rambus post FTC remedy

"The market is now rapidly migrating to DDR2. Therefore, the Commission's remedial order applies only to products that soon will be obsolete." Pamela Jones Harbour (page 9)

DDR2 in 2007 projected to capture 77% of the DRAM revenues. DDR2 = $25 billion. Qimonda's (IFX) 2006 share approximately 16%, leaving $21 billion for licensing.

In honor of Fred Hager:
1.0% = $210 million
1.5% = $315 million
2.0% = $420 million
2.5% = $525 million
3.0% = $630 million
3.5% = $735 million
4.0% = $840 million
4.5% = $945 million
5.0% = $1.05 billion

DDR2 in 2008 projected to capture 84% of the DRAM revenues. DDR2 = $33.6 billion. Reducing by 16% (Qimoda/IFX) in 2008 leaves $28.2+ billion for licensing. Run the numbers, it is fun if your aren't paying them.

FTC is a joke! They have their own courts and judges. They first looked stupid for overturning their own ALJ; and now by issuing this order ignoring many facts outlined clearly by the ALJ, they will finally get their @sses handed to them after the appeal. What a total waste of tax payers money!
