Author John Crawford was a member of the Florida National guard when he was called to active duty in the fall of 2002. Once in Iraq, he spent several months patrolling the streets of Baghdad.

A reader will feel the oppressive heat, the grit of sand and taste the fear of a soldier on patrol in Iraq.
