Farmwald & Horowitz join forces again

[Update: USPO link repaired & reference corrected. See comment of cartel fanboy which follows post. 9/20/06]

In what may prove to be a disruptive advance of RDRAM-like (and its progeny) proportions, Michael Farmwald and Mark Horowitz have collaborated again for the benefit of Rambus Inc. This time, snagging a patent for "an integrated circuit bus interface for computer and video systems . . . which allows high speed transfer of blocks of data, particularly to and from memory devices, with reduced power consumption and increased system reliability." The patent also describes "a new method of physically implementing the bus architecture."

Patents can be boring reading material - but Any Donkey believes this one is worth a few minutes of your life.

United State Patent 7,110,322

Farmwald, et al. September 19, 2006

Memory module including an integrated circuit device

Abstract
A memory module including an integrated circuit is disclosed. In one particular exemplary embodiment, the memory module may comprise a plurality of memory devices and an integrated circuit device that is coupled to the plurality of memory devices. The integrated circuit device includes a first circuit to receive control information specifying a write operation, and address information specifying a memory location corresponding to the write operation, wherein the memory location is in a first memory device of the plurality of memory devices, and wherein the control information and the address information are received in a multiplexed format. The integrated circuit device also includes a second circuit, including a plurality of output drivers, to output data after a first number of clock cycles of an external clock signal transpire, wherein the data is to be written to the first memory device during the write operation.

It's 7,110,322 and you should read it more carefully.

Once again mulching through the 16 year old brain-farts of the loser half-wits. Way to go.

You're welcome.

Quit letting yourself be punked. Read the references from the mid to late 1980s that have been posted here before. H&F are prime movers in the attempt to distort the scope, extent and significance of their '898 disclosure of alleged invention. Their spokespeople are aiding in this process to create the false impression that the Rambus system was at a useful state of development in 1990 and that the entire inventorship of every element of that system specification rests with H&F. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
