U.S. DOJ contacts Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi Electronic Corporation announced (5/22/06) that the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division is seeking information about the sale of Mitsubishi DRAM in the United States 1998 - 2002.

"We are unable to predict the impact of the DOJ request or civil lawsuits, including but not limited to a possible adverse effect, on our business performance in the future."
Electronic News linked here opines:

Sunday’s news (Mitsubishi) follows a $160 million court settlement that saw Hynix, Samsung and Infineon end their legal wrangling with DRAM conspiracy claims. That deal -- announced on May 10 and viewed by many as one of the last nails in the coffin of DRAM conspiracy claims -- saw Hynix agree to a $73 million deal, Samsung agree to pay $67 million and Infineon settle for $20 million. (Emphasis added.)
Hello? The conspirators have only paid their death taxes - now comes Judgement Day.

Fire up the grill.
