Paul Otellini, Intel CEO, is the keynote speaker at the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco on August 23, 2005. He is expected to reveal where Intel is headed with regard to its next generation desktop PC chip.
Speculation is that Intel’s engineers in Israel, led by Sean Maloney and Dadi Perlmutter, have seriously tweaked technology in an Intel mobile chip – the Pentium M chip used in laptops – to create a new flagship chip which is likely to be manufactured using Intel’s 65 nanometer technology.
Ramboids are hoping that Otellini will say something nice about Rambus or casually mention that he and Rambus CEO Harold Hughes have a fishing trip planned for next month.
