The Cell microprocessor has left the exclusivity of the gaming industry with the announcement today (6/28/05) of an agreement between IBM and Mercury Computers Systems (MRCY). Mercury intends to integrate Cell in data intensive applications - radar, sonar, MRI, CT, digital X-ray, and others.
