Rambus Signs Patent License Agreement With NEC Electronics; Agreement Includes DDR2 Memory Controllers as Well as Future Rambus Innovations
LOS ALTOS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 14, 2005--Rambus Inc. (Nasdaq:RMBS), one of the world's premier technology licensing companies specializing in high-speed chip interfaces, today announced it has signed a patent license agreement with NEC Electronics Corporation that allows the development and manufacture of memory controllers based on various Rambus innovations.
The agreement is for a five-year term, with the possibility of renewal or extension. The license's scope covers memory controllers compatible with SDR, DDR and DDR2 SDRAM as well as future memory controller innovations. Rambus will receive royalties on sales of licensed products.
