Philips - Xilinx Sub $15 programable PCI Express solution

April 13, 2005 -- Philips Electronics and Xilinx, Inc demonstrated the first programmable PCI Express endpoint silicon solution offered at what is claimed to be a much lower cost than traditional solutions.The Philips-Xilinx programmable PCI Express solution costs less than US$15.00 (in high volumes).

This solution includes the Philips PCI Express PHY which delivers the SERDES serializer/deserializer and the Physical Coding Sub-Layer (PCS) and offers excellent bit rate performance.The Philips PHY consumes little power and features a small form factor that makes it suitable for ExpressCard applications.
