H-P/Infinity to put radio in your cell phone

Hewlett-Packard and Infinity Broadcasting will announce a deal today (4/18) to bring a new service to the United States that lets consumers listen to local FM radio on their cell phone and get extra data about the broadcast delivered to their phones.

The service, called Visual Radio, is a move to help radio broadcasters fight the competitive threat of satellite radio. HP and Infinity will announce their plans at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas this week.
