Knight-Ridder reported that U.S. District Judge Robert Payne has denied Rambus’ motion that he order Infineon to turn over the documents of the JRA Group, reportedly a semiconductor industry group created to assess the strengths of Rambus’ patents. Read the article at Hoover's Online
Judge Payne is quoted as saying “The problem we have here is that Rambus knew of the existence of [the group] as far back as October 2004.”
Knight-Ridder does not report whether Judge Payne explains why it was not a problem that Infineon did not disclose the documents existed in the first place.
Empiricum confirms that he will be serving a special banquet regarding Payne’s latest ruling. New readers may request Empiricum’s fare by posting their wish to receive the email on the AOL Rambus board.
