500 millionth RDRAM memory device shipped

Business Wire reports that the 500 Millionth RDRAM Memory Device has been shipped.

Rambus Inc., one of the world's premier technology licensing companies specializing in high-speed chip interfaces, today announced its customers have shipped more than 500 million memory devices (128 Mb equivalent units) incorporating the Rambus RDRAM(R) memory interface. RDRAM memory devices can be found in over 100 million consumer, computing and communications systems and products shipped since the introduction of RDRAM in 1997 and are currently shipping in applications ranging from game consoles and high definition televisions to Internet routers.
