Micron Technology, Inc., v. Rambus, Inc., Civil Action No. 00-792-KAJ is scheduled to commence a 15 day jury trial February 21, 2006. Plenty of time to get another crop of potatoes planted, tended, harvested and off to market before the suits get earnest and start talking settlement.
I wondered if J.R. Simplot and family, with their 20+% investment in Micron, could find a little time before market to talk some sense into the Micron directors. My research revealed that good weather, proper watering and a little “earthing up” will produce a good crop and leave some time for other things.
Will Micron settle with Rambus? Trust me, J.R. didn’t fall off the truck and bang his potato and still land on #92 Forbes 400! In an interview by Scott Carrier for Esquire published in 2001, J.R. is quoted saying “I got no religion in me. I could never see through it. Basically, I’m a facts man; if I can’t see through it, I say it’s not possible.”
Well J.R. the facts are these - Judge Whyte out in California found that Hynix infringed lots of different ways on patents owned by Rambus. He did this by summary judgment. Now Hynix is claiming that Rambus has dirty hands, but I suspect that you being a working man and all for many years know a thing or two about dirty hands and can smell a line of bull a long way off.
One more thing, J.R., I have wondered this too – "What the hell is gravity?”
